You can find ABHA number by mobile number in about two minutes, for free, without visiting any office. The ABHA portal and app both let you log in with just your registered phone and an OTP, then show the full 14-digit number on your profile. If that phone is gone, Aadhaar login works as a backup. Forgot ABHA number details for a parent or child too? The same mobile login lists every family profile tied to that number.

Use your mobile number to recover it in two minutes

The mobile route is the one most families should try first. It's forgiving, because you don't need to remember anything except which phone you used.

Step-by-step on the website
  1. Open abha.abdm.gov.in on your phone or laptop.

  2. Tap Login and pick Mobile number.

  3. Enter the 10-digit number and tap Get OTP.

  4. Type in the OTP you receive by SMS.

  5. Choose the right name if several profiles appear.

  6. Your profile opens with the 14-digit ABHA number (formatted like 91-1234-5678-9012) and your @abdm address.

Write the number somewhere safe straight away. Better still, download the card so you have both together. Our pillar guide on ABHA card download shows how to save the PDF in one tap.

ABHA login with mobile number on the app

The ABHA app and Aarogya Setu 2.0 work the same way. Choose ABHA login with mobile number, verify the OTP and pick your profile. The number shows on your digital card. Apps are handy because they remember you, so you won't need to find ABHA number by mobile number again next time.

Why one phone may show several ABHA profiles

Families often register parents and children with one person's mobile. That's allowed. The portal lists every ABHA tied to that number, so check the name and year of birth before you note anything down. Duplicate profiles for one person also show up here. If you spot one, our guide to ABHA address vs ABHA number explains which identifier belongs to which account.

ABHA number search by Aadhaar when your phone has changed

Phones get lost and SIMs get swapped. If the mobile on your ABHA no longer works, Aadhaar is the official backup route.

How Aadhaar login works

On the portal, tap Login and choose Aadhaar. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and tap Get OTP. The OTP comes from UIDAI to the mobile linked with your Aadhaar, which may differ from your ABHA mobile. Once verified, your profile opens and shows the number. This ABHA number search by Aadhaar only works if your ABHA was created or verified through Aadhaar.

Then update the mobile on your ABHA

While you're logged in, go to your profile and update the mobile number to the one you use now. This prevents the same problem next year. If the Aadhaar-linked mobile is also outdated, update it first at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (₹75 for a mobile update), then return to the portal.

IN SIMPLE TERMS

In simple terms: your ABHA number is tied to your phone and your Aadhaar, so either one can unlock it. Log in with whichever you still have, and the number shows up on screen. Then save it somewhere you'll find it again.

Retrieve ABHA address and fix the tricky cases

Young man and older woman look at a phone beside ABHA forms; ad reads Retrieve ABHA address and fix the tricky cases. Track on seht.

Sometimes the standard routes come back empty. These are the situations we see most often, and what actually works.

"No ABHA found" on your mobile

This usually means the account was created with a different number, often a spouse's or adult child's phone used at a hospital desk. Try the other family mobiles one by one. Also try Aadhaar login. If your ABHA was made at a government hospital, the OPD slip or registration receipt from that visit often has the number printed on it.

You remember the address but not the number

If you recall something like sunitasharma@abdm, log in with the ABHA address instead. You'll land on the same profile. Going the other way, you can also retrieve ABHA address from the profile page once you're logged in with your mobile. Keep both written together, because some hospital systems ask for one and some for the other.

Elderly parents and children

For a parent without a smartphone, sit with them and log in on your phone using their Aadhaar. For children, the parent's mobile is usually the registered one. If nothing works, visit the ABHA help desk at any ABDM-enabled government hospital with the person's Aadhaar card. Staff can search and help re-verify the account at no cost.

WATCH OUT

Watch out: Websites promising to "search any ABHA number" by name are not official. Only abha.abdm.gov.in, the ABHA app, Aarogya Setu 2.0 and ABDM-listed apps can legitimately find ABHA number by mobile number, and they always need an OTP.

When to see a doctor (and when to get ABHA help)

A forgotten number should never stop anyone from getting care. Take action when:

  • A family member needs a follow-up visit and you can't recover their number. Go anyway with Aadhaar.

  • Someone shows new or worsening symptoms. Medical care comes first, records later.

  • You receive OTPs or consent requests you didn't ask for. Call the ABDM helpline at 1800-11-4477.

  • The portal shows a profile with someone else's name on your phone. Report it before using it.

  • Your elderly parent's details don't match their Aadhaar. Fix it at a hospital help desk before their next admission.

In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital or call 112 or 108. You never need an ABHA number to receive emergency treatment.

FAQs

How do I find ABHA number by mobile number?

Go to abha.abdm.gov.in, tap Login and select Mobile number. Enter your registered number, verify the OTP and choose your profile. The 14-digit ABHA number and @abdm address appear on screen. The ABHA app and Aarogya Setu 2.0 work the same way. The service is free and doesn't need any document upload.

Use Login with Aadhaar on the portal. The OTP goes to the mobile linked with your Aadhaar, not your ABHA. Once inside, your number appears and you can update the ABHA mobile. If your Aadhaar mobile is outdated too, update it at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra first, then try again.

Yes, if their ABHA was registered with your mobile. Log in with your number and the portal lists every linked profile, so pick their name. If their account uses their own phone, log in with that number or their Aadhaar. A government hospital ABHA help desk can also search it with their Aadhaar card.

No. There is no official search by name or birth date, which protects your privacy. You can only recover an ABHA number through your registered mobile, Aadhaar or ABHA address, each verified by OTP. Any website offering name-based ABHA search is unofficial and may be trying to collect your personal details.

No. Your ABHA number is a separate 14-digit health ID, while Aadhaar is a 12-digit identity number. Aadhaar is often used to create or verify an ABHA, but the two numbers are different. You can share your ABHA number with hospitals without sharing your Aadhaar number, which is one of ABHA's privacy advantages.
